Bucharest, September 23, 2023. (Source: adevarul.ro) – Jacob and Jenny Warren, two young American tourists very passionate about travel, spent a few days in Romania this summer, being very excited about the places they visited.
The YouTube channel of the two Americans, opened in May 2021, already has almost 15,000 subscribers, and the six films made in Romania already have more than 76,000 views.
Jacob and Jenny want to reach all seven continents and visit as many countries as possible in the coming years. The two have visited more than 30 countries so far, and Romania has remained very close to their hearts.
Jacob and Jenny spent the first few days in Bucharest and tried the food and drinks from several restaurants. “I don’t usually drink beer, but I really liked the Romanian beer. Tuica is also very interesting. As a dessert, I already love papanas,” says Jenny.
Jacob was very pleasantly surprised by the eggplant salad. “I can’t believe how good eggplant on bread is in combination with onions and tomatoes. In Romania I discovered polenta and I can already say that I like it, I have eaten it several times in combination with different dishes”, says the young American tourist.
Cișmigiu Park delighted the two travel enthusiasts. “We can’t believe that we discovered such an oasis of greenery, peace and beauty right in the center of Romania’s capital. The Old Center is also amazing, even if it is very touristic, it has many old buildings and wonderful architecture. Bucharest is the hidden gem of Europe. Romania surprised us superlatively in all possible ways”, says Jenny Warren.
From Bucharest, the two Americans went by train to Bușteni and Sinaia.
“The landscapes of Sinaia and Busteni are incredible. We fell in love with Romania and I don’t remember the last time we were so impressed by a country. Peleș Castle looks like a castle from stories and has such a special history. Romania simply turned our backs on us”, adds Jenny.
The videos filmed by the two American tourists in Romania attracted hundreds of positive comments, including some foreigners who want to visit our country after seeing the footage.
“I didn’t know that Romania is such a fascinating country to visit. I traveled to France and Italy before, and now I discover that Romania is as beautiful as any other country in Europe and much cheaper than the other countries”, he wrote one commenter on Jacob and Jenny Warren’s YouTube account.
A special chapter for them was Brașov, where they arrived after visiting Busteni. To move, the two used the train, Adevarul reports.
“I arrived in Transylvania. 1st class was definitely a lot better than 2nd class and it only cost $3 more so I’ll be honest, it’s definitely worth it. The difference was the air conditioning, we felt very good there. The taxi dropped us off right in front of the hotel and it was only an extra dollar, but we saved 30 minutes that we would have taken the bus. This is another reason to love Romania. Taxis are so cheap and save you so much time. We just arrived at the hotel and look how pretty the mountain is behind us. It is also a square with many restaurants. Romania is becoming more and more interesting”, said the two.
Jenny was impressed by the charm of the city and the architecture left an excellent impression on her. “I like to walk these narrow streets. It feels really cool and a little scary, but also beautiful at the same time because there’s such a different architecture than what you see in the United States, so I really appreciate that,” said the American tourist.
Stopped in front of a panel with a graphic showing what Brașov was like a few hundred years ago, the two could not hide their emotion.
“So this is what Brasov looks like, surrounded by huge walls. It’s so cool,” Jacob said. Then, they came across a large spider web woven on the branches of a fir tree.
“Look how intricate this spider’s web is! I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that looked so perfect. But why am I surprised? We are in Transylvania, in Dracula’s territory. And it fits very well with this medieval architecture too. This place is absolutely amazing. One of the things I like to do when we get to culturally rich areas like this is to imagine what it was like back in the day, with kings and queens, princes and knights. And I feel that Romania has given me a lot of things to dream about, to think about because it has such a rich history and culture. So I can imagine people walking these streets, passing through the city gate between the walls as in the medieval era. It’s so fascinating,” said Jenny.
