The scientific researchers from the Center for Scientific Research for Defense CBRN and Ecology within the Research Agency for Military Technology and Technologies (ACTTM) have developed, in a record time, a system of evacuation of personnel contaminated with biological agents – BIOEVAC (isolated type) , informs the Ministry of National Defense (MApN).
The Romanian isolated was made at the request of the Medical Directorate of the MApN and was adapted according to the system by which those transported in this enclosure were protected by an external contaminating agent, said the scientific researcher Claudiu Lăzăroaie, from the Research Agency for Military Technology and Technologies, on Saturday. (ACTTM).
He explained that “the tar has a negative pressure gas and vaporproof enclosure to keep the contaminant in.”
“We have a filter-ventilation system that helps create negative pressure and a lightweight aluminum-hard frame for easy transport. I didn’t work strictly on this project (…) My colleagues and I had experience in developing systems. isolation for patients contaminated with chemical agents. If we were to keep the contaminant out of the islet, here (no to the coronavirus isolate) we have to keep the contamination inside, “said Lt-Col. Lazaroaie.
The scientific researcher mentioned that the tests for the insulation involved measuring the negative pressure and specific measurements for the material that are made to ensure the mechanical strength of the insulation.
“The product was developed at the request of the Medical Directorate and we hope that the first manufactured products will reach the Medical Directorate.
Claudiu Lăroaroaie announced in context that they are currently working on modular systems to treat those infected with coronavirus.
We are working on the treatment module for coronavirus-infected patients, given that the number of hospital rooms in which they can be treated is small. We are trying to make modular systems for their treatment, “Lăzăroaie said.
According to the MApN, the equipment ensures the temporary isolation and safe transport of personnel suspected or confirmed to be contaminated with biological agents, including SARS-CoV-2, and is equipped with a negative pressure filter-ventilation system.
“The product developed by the military researchers meets the security standards for the prevention of contamination risks in the isolation area and on the transport route of the infected person,” the MApN said.
