Over 1,500 entrepreneurs, investors and professionals are expected at Romexpo for the official attempt to break the Guinness World Records world record for the largest speed networking meeting ever organized.
The Guinness World Records mechanism: discipline for success
In order for the record to be validated, participants must comply with a rigorous interaction protocol. The official attempt by Romanian entrepreneurs to break the current record held by Sydney, Australia consists of a system of successive timed rounds with a total duration of two hours.
An extended team of 50 people composed of stewards, witnesses and referees will coordinate the record attempt so that all stages comply with the Guinness World Records regulations. Every second counts: participants must follow the established route and rotation rules, with the entire session being monitored by official referees and technical teams. This constructive “pressure” forces entrepreneurs to refine their business speech (elevator pitch), transforming each 3-minute round into an opportunity to connect, without protocol barriers. In addition, each participant will have to register in the official Guiness World Records application to validate participation and issue a participation certificate after the event.
“This record is achieved by the over 1,500 people who will come to Romexpo on May 27. We simply created the framework in which each entrepreneur can enter into conversations, without wasting time, and have, if they wish, 3 minutes on stage to say who they are and what they do. Each participant in the room counts and can go home with at least 20 new contacts in their phone book”, declared Vlad Mihălăchioiu, founder of the Romanian Business Club.
After the record is validated, 20 personalities from the Romanian business world will take the stage to share valuable stories from their own entrepreneurial experience. The evening will end with a party dedicated to the new Guinness World Records title holders.
Diversity and visibility
The Women in Charge community also contributed to organizing the largest speed networking meeting ever organized, ensuring an essential gender balance in the networking ecosystem.
“The involvement of the Women in Charge community contributes to creating a more diverse and balanced networking space, where female entrepreneurs and professionals from different industries have access to opportunities for connection, collaboration and professional development,” said Amalia Mihălăchioiu, founder of Women in Charge.
