The Bucharest government supports the development of investments in industry for the modernization of the national economy, said Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca during a meeting he had with representatives of the Beltrame group, after finishing of the acquisition of the Targoviste Special Steel Plant.
On this occasion, the company presented plans for major investments in refurbishment, for the production of special steels in conditions of environmental protection.
The investments of over 250 million euros that the Beltrame Group will make in Târgoviște will transform the old plant into the most modern factory for the production of special steels, with carbon emissions at one of the lowest levels in Europe. Production will begin in the coming months.
The representatives of the Group announced that they plan to develop, in Târgoviște, a new plant for the production of steel-concrete and rolled wire.
These investments will generate 200 new jobs from the first stage, until the completion of the development plans being created a total of over 1,000 jobs.
Investors will build two photovoltaic parks, which will contribute to the electricity supply of production capacities.
The Prime Minister underlined the support that the Romanian Government gives to the development of investments in industry, for the modernization of the national economy, access to new technologies, creation of new jobs for Romanians, and high value-added products for the local and European market.
“We are investing heavily in the coming years, using European funds and from the budget. The raw materials and high-quality products from the country are necessary in order to be able to maintain the fast pace of the economic development effort, in directions that support the quality of life and protect the environment “, said the Prime Minister.
