Bucharest, December 13, 2023 – # rbj – The annual inflation rate decreased in November to 6.72%, from 8.07% in October, according to the data published on Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS). Food goods rose in price by 6.84% in November 2023 compared to November 2022, non-food goods by 5.08%, and services by 11.18%.
“The consumer price index in November 2023 compared to October 2023 was 99.99%. The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (November 2023 compared to December 2022) was 6.3%. The annual inflation rate in November 2023 compared to November 2022 was 6.7%. The average rate of change in consumer prices in the last 12 months (December 2022 – November 2023) compared to the previous 12 months (December 2021 – November 2022) was 11.2%”, INS data show.
The harmonized index of consumer prices in November 2023 compared to October 2023 was 99.90%. The annual inflation rate in November 2023 compared to November 2022 calculated on the basis of the harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) was 6.9%. The average rate of change in consumer prices in the last 12 months (December 2022 – November 2023) compared to the previous 12 months (December 2021 – November 2022) determined on the basis of the HIPC was 10.3%.
Among food commodities, the price of beer increased the most, by 16.17%, in November 2023 compared to November 2022, and by 0.13% compared to October 2023, but also fresh fish, by 16.13%, in November 2023 compared to November 2022, and by 0.39% compared to October 2023. Edible oil became cheaper the most, by 27.51%, in November 2023 compared to November 2022.
Among non-food goods, the price of detergents increased the most, by 23.58% in November 2023 compared to November 2022, and by 1.52% compared to October 2023. Electricity became cheaper by 11.54% in November 2023 versus November 2022.
Among the services, the price of air transport rose the most in November, by 29.56%, in November 2023 compared to November 2022, and it became cheaper by 7.82% compared to October 2023.
