Romarm signs the memorandum of understanding with the Italian manufacturer Beretta Holding (1)

The National Company Romarm will sign the memorandum of understanding with the Italian arms manufacturer Beretta Holding on Monday, June 10, 2019.
“We are ready to produce a fourth-generation Beretta weapon in Romania, which will be produced at the Mechanical Plant Plopeni, Prahova County, we have had negotiations and they have chosen this site. We come in the first phase with over 30% components in it, because it is very clear that we can not produce in the first phase everything … In autumn we will have the first units assembled in Romania from this last-generation weapon, “Nicolae Bădălău, Minister of Economy, recently said.
“It is one of the weapons in which the recoil is zero, 5.56 caliber NATO, but it is the latest generation. The weapons have improved. Every year there has been a lot of research, and we are talking about a world brand, Beretta …” said the Minister of Economy.
He said in January that the Romanian defense industry will produce a new assault weapon, last generation, in cooperation with Beretta company, at NATO standards, the production being scheduled to start in the autumn.
The Plopeni plant was chosen by the Italian partner, and for the beginning 30% of the components will be manufactured locally, Bădălau said in January.
At the signing of the Memo participates the president Franco Gussalli from the Beretta Holding, and from the Mechanical Plant Plopeni, the General Director Tiberiu Alexandru Pîrvu.
Attending the event are the Minister of National Defense, Gabriel-Beniamin Leş, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Carmen Dan, as well as the Ambassador of Italy to Bucharest, His Excellency Marco Giugi.
After the event, a demonstrative shootout will take place in the presence of Romanian and Italian officials.
