Bucharest, December 10, 2024 – RBJ (Source: Agerpres) – The European Commission (EC) has decided to form a group of experts responsible for the development of the first Code of Practice dedicated to Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in Europe, of which Romania is also part, through Decalex Digital, the only local company co-opted in this innovative project.
“The initiative represents the necessary, crucial step in establishing global standards for transparency, safety and ethics in the use of AI and marks a historic moment in the regulation and accountability of technology. The project, initiated and coordinated by the European Commission, is the first of its kind globally and brings together industry leaders, academic experts and civil society representatives to develop a robust framework to ensure the responsible use of AI technology. The Code of Practice will address critical challenges such as preventing the misuse of artificial intelligence, promoting a transparent decision-making process and protecting the fundamental rights of users,” the company said in a press release, sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday.
According to the cited source, after the initial stage, when it focused on data protection services and GDPR compliance, the Romanian company expanded its offer to include cybersecurity services, process mapping and compliance in the field of AI.
The company launched MyDPO, the first AI-powered GDPR compliance application dedicated to small and medium-sized companies, which helps their internal departments manage everyday situations regarding personal data.
The Code of Practice for Generative AI will set standards that can become a global model and position Europe as a leader in the ethical regulation of advanced technologies. Within this project, Decalex Digital will contribute with expertise in the digital field, technological ethics and international regulations.
Decalex Digital is a company founded in 2011, specialized in the regulation of the digital field and Artificial Intelligence. With a multidisciplinary team and a visionary entrepreneurial mindset, the company has successfully implemented GDPR compliance programs in over a thousand Romanian companies from various industries.
Starting from 2023, Decalex expanded its activity beyond the country’s borders and opened a subsidiary in London, where with the support of a local team it delivers compliance projects. In the same year, the company’s specialists were nominated in the “Best Privacy Team of the Year” category by the Risk Awards London (UK).
