The German Group Kärcher, world leader in cleaning technology, will inaugurate in October a new production unit in Curtea de Argeş, an investment of 20 million euros, where it will produce vacuum cleaners, and wants to double its business in Romania by 2025, to 23 million euros in 2020.
The group inaugurated in 2016 at Curtea de Argeş the first production unit in Romania, where it manufactures vacuum cleaners, following an investment of 15 million euros.
“In October we open the second unit in Curtea de Argeş, with an investment of 20 million euros. The investment of the first factory, opened in 2016, was 15 million euros. Thus, the total investment amounts to 35 million euros. The land was purchased since then, “said Lilia Sedlar, Kärcher’s regional president for Eastern Europe.
The company will also open a new store in Constanţa, which will be inaugurated at the beginning of next year.
Kärcher inaugurated on Wednesday, in Militari Shopping, the seventh representative office in the country, following an investment of 80,000 euros. Here will be listed over 500 products for both domestic and professional use: pressure cleaners, multifunctional wet-dry vacuum cleaners, window cleaners, steam cleaners, electric floor cleaners, cleaning and maintenance products gardens.
In the last five years, Kärcher Romania’s business has doubled and in 2020 it recorded a turnover of 23 million euros, with an increase of 17% compared to the previous year. And last year’s profit was 4% of turnover. “This investment is part of our accelerated growth plan to double our turnover over the next five years. Kärcher products have national coverage through the large retail networks and through the network of authorized dealers, Kärcher selling over 500 items “, said Monica Iavorschi, General Manager of Kärcher Romania.
The company also recently launched a program that rents professional devices.
Kärcher Romania is divided into three divisions: home and garden products (which means 60% of business), the professional range and the special solutions division.
