The volume traded on the industrial spaces market in Romania increased by 43% in the first quarter of this year, compared to the same period in 2020, reveals the data contained in a report launched by CBRE, the leader of the real estate consulting market.
According to the document, between January and March 2021, a total of 264,000 sq m of industrial space were rented in Romania, and the largest transaction belongs to the car manufacturer Dacia, which decided to extend its contract for the 68,000 sq m occupied in the project. from Argeş county, owned by the Globalworth investment fund.
Of the total volume of industrial space traded nationally, more than half was registered in Bucharest, while the rest of the country attracted 48% of rental transactions. In this margin, southeastern Romania was the most dynamic area outside the Capital, with 64% of transactions.
CBRE Research data indicate that 61,000 sq m of industrial space were added to the existing stock of 5.16 million sqm delivered in the first quarter, most of it being built in the western and northwestern region of the country, and by the end of the year another 600,000 sqm are to be delivered.
As for rents for industrial spaces, they remained stable, around 3.90 euro / sqm in the first quarter, similar to the value recorded at the end of last year.
At present, the stock of retail spaces in Romania is approaching the threshold of 4 million sqm, at the end of the first quarter being 3.91 million sqm, after 17,000 sqm were delivered, the specialized report shows.
