Starting with January 1, 2020, Cosmin Ghiță, the General Manager of SN Nuclearelectrica, will hold the position of Governor in the Board of Governors of the World Association of Nuclear Operators Center (WANO) in Atlanta. Cosmin Ghita is the first novel on the WANO Board.
In terms of responsibilities, Cosmin Ghita will be responsible for representing the members of the Atlanta Center, as well as the global WANO members within the global Board of the organization, Nuclearelectrica said in an information sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB).
The WANO Board is responsible to the members for the general directions and success of the organization. To promote the engagement of members at a very high level, the WANO Board includes three members from each regional center in addition to the Chairman of the Board, the Executive Chairman, and the General Manager. WANO is the association of nuclear power plant owners worldwide.
Founded in 1989, WANO is a non-profit organization with over 130 members, operating more than 430 civilian nuclear reactors worldwide.
The headquarters is in London, with a branch in Hong Kong. There are four regional headquarters in Atlanta, Moscow, Paris, and Tokyo.
The National Nuclear Power Company of Romania is a member of the World Association of Nuclear Operators.
