Bucharest, October 3, 2025RBJ – The biggest gaming event in Romania begins this weekend. Bucharest Gaming Week 2025 takes place between October 4 and 12, bringing nine days of activities across Bucharest dedicated to gamers. The main event will unfold on October 11–12 at Romexpo, where tens of thousands of young fans will meet their favorite content creators and take part in hundreds of competitions across the most popular video games.

Bucharest Gaming Week kicks off on October 4–5 with a series of online activations on the most popular streaming platforms, where top content creators will challenge their communities with missions in the newly launched EA FC 26, Fortnite, Minecraft, Counter-Strike 2, and many other titles. Gamers from all over the country are invited to join online competitions hosted by iRaphahell, Ovvy, Bobospider, Scarlatescu, iFoxify, Wu, Turtl3, Gannicus, Adrii von B, Karinul, and many more. All these moments will be streamed on www.bucharestgamingweek.ro.

Between October 6–10, Bucharest Gaming Week brings a wide range of side events showcasing both the opportunities of the local gaming industry and the diversity of the mediums through which gaming expresses itself – from workshops and game development classes for high school students to screenings of films inspired by video games.

The Romanian video game development industry highlights its artistic side with a new exhibition organized with the support of RGDA (the Romanian Game Developers Association), spotlighting art from some of the most popular locally developed games. The vernissage will take place on Tuesday, October 7, at 5:00 PM, at Globalworth Campus, where visitors can admire works by Adrian Cruceanu (Door Kickers 2), Olga Ciob (Unbound), Ioana Șopov (Bear and Breakfast), Sergio Fagua (Mexican Ninja), Liviu Boar and Cami Cuibus (Near-Mage), and Ștefan Georgescu (Bossgard). Young visitors will also enjoy a special surprise: streamers iSilent and Gannicus will meet fans in a dedicated meet & greet held in the Globalworth lobby.

On Thursday, students from “Tudor Vianu” National College will take part in a dedicated workshop at the Amber game development studio. High schoolers will learn directly from industry professionals how a video game comes to life, from idea and concept to the final product, what it means to work in a development team, and what educational paths they can pursue in Romania to build a career in the industry.
Continuing its efforts to support education in this field, ECHO School offers enrolled students the chance to spend an entire day attending its courses. Between October 6–10, participants can explore training programs designed for future game creators, joining classes in game design & development, game engineering, or computer arts & animation.

“Every year we see more organizations eager to connect with video game fans in Romania, and from increasingly diverse fields. It’s no longer just the Romanian Army, cinemas, shopping centers, or game development studios – already familiar presences at Gaming Week. Schools and universities are also more and more interested in attracting this audience. We are very excited about how Echo School, for instance, has chosen to welcome enthusiasts straight into their classrooms to learn what it means to create video games and what academic paths lead to this profession – in an industry that last year alone generated over €343 million in revenue in Romania. Another new addition this year is Globalworth, home to thousands of employees across prestigious companies, many of whom are passionate gamers themselves,” said Tudor Dăescu, co-organizer of Bucharest Gaming Week.

On October 6, 8, and 10, Cineplexx Titan will bring three beloved game-inspired films to the big screen: Wreck-It Ralph, Detective Pikachu, and Uncharted. Screenings start at 7:30 PM, and attendees can enter a raffle for a sim racing kit.

Gaming community hubs such as Red Goblin, Bucharest GeekHub, 1UP Gamers Pub, and Dome Internet & Gaming will host a series of activities for fans. From boardgame tournaments to trivia contests and gaming competitions, participants will compete for prizes and invitations to the main Romexpo event.

At the newest gaming venue in Bucharest, EVA VR Bucharest, those who prove themselves as top players in VR esports competitions will win invitations to Bucharest Gaming Week. Between October 6–10, participants will enter the 500-square-meter arenas to play After-H: Battle Arena, a competitive VR shooter, aiming to earn the title of MVP (Most Valuable Player).

Gateway VR Studio also welcomes visitors with a wide selection of VR experiences, from RPGs and co-op shooters to escape rooms. Ticket holders for Bucharest Gaming Week will receive discounts on VR experiences and enjoy many surprises.

On Wednesday, October 8, Vodafone invites Jaxi’s fans to a special meet & greet with him at 5:00 PM at Globalworth Tower, dedicated to the children of the Globalworth community.
