Banca Transilvania (BT) joins the Morphosis Capital Fund I (MCFI) investment fund to support the development of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Romania, the private equity firm said in a press release on Tuesday.
Within this partnership, Morphosis Capital aims to invest a minimum of € 5 million per transaction in successful Romanian SMEs operating in the consumer goods, medical services, technology, but also B2B services, companies with an indicator EBITDA of at least one million euros.
“The strategic priority of BT is the financing of the Romanian economy, this being our main pillar of activity but also of competence, given that we have 25 years experience in the interaction with the local business AND. Our involvement in Morphosis Capital Fund I is yet another proof of our appetite and alternative financing solutions to help capitalize and develop local businesses, “said Omer Tetik, CEO of Transilvania Bank.
In turn, Andrei Gemeneanu, managing partner of Morphosis Capital, claims that the mission of the fund he represents is to support local entrepreneurs.

MCFI was founded in 2018 with the European Investment Fund (EIF) as an anchor, through the Regional Operational Program co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Morphosis Capital’s private equity firm was founded by a team of four Romanian entrepreneurs – Andrei Gemeneanu, Simona Gemeneanu, Gabriela Dumitru and Dragoş Petre, who ranked top in global companies such as Unilever, TNT Express, Thomson Reuters, PWC, and Innova Capital.
