Bucharest, September 18, 2024 – RBJ – Dozens of companies will offer thousands of jobs for the disability community at the first edition of the AccessABILITY Expo, taking place between September 27 and 29 at the National Library of Romania in Bucharest. The event, which brings together the disability community along with experts, professionals, authorities, and companies, is free and open to the public.
Romania is home to approximately 900,000 people with disabilities, yet less than 5% of them are employed. The job fair at AccessABILITY Expo, organised by the Romanian Diversity Chamber of Commerce (RDCC), is designed to provide real employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
“AccessABILITY Expo is not just an event; it’s a platform for real societal change. The job fair is a crucial step in closing the employment gap for people with disabilities, giving them access to career opportunities that match their talent and potential. By collaborating with top companies in Romania such as Kaufland, Decathlon, and Alexandrion Group, we demonstrate that inclusion is not only a social responsibility but also a smart business strategy. A diverse workforce brings innovation, loyalty, and improved performance,” said Perry Zizzi, Managing Partner of Dentons Romania and President of the Romanian Diversity Chamber of Commerce.
This initiative is part of a broader movement to overcome social barriers and support the economic inclusion of people with disabilities. Those who wish to participate in AccessABILITY Expo can register here.
Key elements of AccessABILITY Expo:
>> Romanian Accessibility Awareness Day Conference (RAAD): Discussions on workplace accessibility and inclusion for nearly one million people with visible and invisible disabilities in Romania.
>> Inspirational conferences and workshops: A series of sessions led by opinion leaders and professionals in the field of disability inclusion.
