Budapest/Hungary, May 28, 2024 – RBJ – In an event that took place today in Budapest, today Alexandru Stânean, CEO of TeraPlast Bistrita, from Bistrita Nasaud county, Romania, emphasized that the Romanian company aims to become as quickly market leader in Central and Eastern Europe and, first of all, in Hungary.
Regarding the moment of reaching this goal, his lordship said: “I would like it as soon as possible, but under no circumstances further than 5 years. We still have small investments to make. We still need to build the PVC pipe factory, where the investment is approximately 3.5 million euros. I have already bought some of the machines. In a, let’s say, optimistic scenario, by the end of the year, in a less optimistic scenario, sometime in the first part of next year, we should have the PVC pipe plant operational. We have everything we need to be able to cover all the needs of the infrastructure market in Hungary, Romania and beyond. The infrastructure here allows us to be efficient within a radius of two to three countries. We loosely cover Austria, even southern Germany and Poland, Slovakia and the Western Balkans.”
He also said that the group is looking for other takeover targets in Eastern Europe: “We called a general meeting of shareholders, to increase the social capital, to attract capital, precisely to finance these acquisitions. The mission I have from the Board of Directors is that TeraPlast’s business is to expand and grow. (…) At least two projects I think are advanced enough that we have a chance to make a hill this year. It is difficult to make a very clear timeline, but we have active discussions at the moment with several targets and we are studying a lot and more”.
