Guangzhou, June 3, 2026 – RBJ – (Source: CCIR) The President of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR), Mr. Mihai Daraban, had, on June 3, an official meeting with a delegation with representation at the provincial government, business environment, international trade and economic diplomacy levels from Guangdong province, led by Ms. Zhang Guozhi, vice governor.
The meeting took place within the economic mission organized by the CCIR to the People’s Republic of China and provided the opportunity for discussions on strengthening economic, commercial and cultural relations between Romania and one of the most dynamic provinces in China.
“We have decided to open the first external representative office in the history of our institution in Guangzhou, a clear signal of the importance we attach to this partnership. The office will function as a permanent point of contact, facilitating exchanges in both directions: in the business field, but also in the educational one, for Romanian and Chinese companies alike. We are confident that this institutional presence in Guangzhou will contribute to deepening bilateral cooperation and will open new opportunities for entrepreneurs from both countries. Romania and China are building a solid economic relationship together, and CCIR assumes an active role in this direction. We are convinced that the rapprochement between the business environments of the two countries represents the foundation on which sustainable and mutually beneficial partnerships can be built”, declared the President of CCIR, Mihai Daraban.
“CCIR plays a very important role in the cooperation between the two countries, and Guang dong Province attaches great importance to Romania. The growing volumes of our trade exchanges confirm that there is a favorable moment that we must capitalize on. We want to improve bilateral relations by encouraging Romanian companies to invest in Guangdong Province and, equally, Chinese companies in Romania, but also to develop exchanges in the fields of tourism, education, culture and health. The relations between our peoples have a long history of economic collaboration, and this represents the best foundation on which we can build the future. We are convinced that the potential of this partnership is far from being reached and that the steps we are taking today will bring concrete benefits to both sides“, declared Zhang Guozhi, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province.
