The TeraPlast tradition starts 125 years ago when, in 1896, a ceramic tile processing workshop was set up.
Over the years, the company has brought solutions to Romania for the first time and is currently the only Romanian manufacturer that holds a patent for the use of recycled PVC in multilayer pipes for exterior sewers.
TeraPlast Group is investing million euros to become the largest plastics processor in Eastern Europe. The group has entered the packaging market, increasing production capacity at facilities and becoming the largest producer of recycled micronized PVC.
The TeraPlast Group is an example of Romanian entrepreneurship. The Group’s strength lies in the complementarity of the businesses in the portfolio, in the strong team of experts and in the ability to anticipate and take advantage of market opportunities.
The TeraPlast Group, an organization with 100% Romanian capital, includes the companies TeraPlast (manufacturer of pipes and granules), TeraGlass (manufacturer of PVC and aluminum windows and doors) and TeraPlast Recycling (recycler and collector of rigid PVC waste). Recently, the TeraPlast Group also acquired the company Somplast SA, a manufacturer of plastic parts in Bistrița-Năsăud County.
TeraPlast operates in the PVC and granule installation markets and holds top positions in a large part of these markets. The parent company TeraPlast is the market leader in the segments of external sewers and granules, and is the second player in the market of internal sewers. TeraPlast SA, the parent company of the TeraPlast Group, is the only Romanian member company TEPPFA (The European Plastic Pipes and Fittings Association). In 2015, TeraPlast transferred the production of double-glazed windows and doors to another company.
The production facilities of the Group companies are located in the TeraPlast Industrial Park, Bistrita-Nasaud, in the center of the country. In the period 2007-2014, the Teraplast Group invested over 260 million lei in the development and modernization of production capacities, but also in the expansion of the product portfolio. TeraPlast has a sales system that includes a network of own or rented warehouses. TeraPlast also carries out export activities, the main foreign markets being Germany, Serbia, Hungary, the Republic of Moldova, Austria, Slovenia, Bulgaria.
The group is the largest polymer processor in eastern Europe and the only producer of HFFR granules in Romania
The locations of the Tera Plast Group amount to 316,849 square meters, consisting of 83,513 square meters of production halls and 233,355 square meters of concrete platforms.
Since July 2, 2008, the company is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange under the symbol TRP. The company’s shares are included in the BVB benchmark and, as of September 2020, in the FTSE Russell MicroCap and TotalCap indices.
