Bucharest, October 16, 2025RBJ – Romanian company Transgaz S.A., the operator of the national gas transmission system (SNT), announced the completion and commissioning of the Tuzla-Podișor pipeline, which will take over the gas that will be extracted from the Neptun Deep offshore production perimeter, the largest in the Romanian Black Sea.

The Tuzla-Podișor pipeline is a natural gas transmission pipeline, it will connect with new natural gas sources from the Transbalkan Corridor and the Vertical Corridor, which also includes the BRUA pipeline (Bulgaria-Romania-Hungary-Austria). The project ensures the transport of natural gas from the Black Sea to the national and European grid, being essential for Romania’s energy security.

The Tuzla-Podișor natural gas transmission pipeline will ensure the supply of natural gas to almost half a million household consumers and public institutions in Romania.

The pipeline has a route of approximately 300 km, connecting the onshore station in Tuzla, where Black Sea gas is processed, with the station in Podișor.

The Băcia-Mintia pipeline, which will supply gas to the future 1,800 MW Mintia thermal power plant, which will be the largest in the European Union, has also become operational. According to a communication from Transgaz, the National Gas Transport System (SNT) has new operating limits, starting from October 20, because several pipelines carrying gas have come into operation. the optimal operating state of the NTS is between 92-95 million cubic meters, the normal state is between 85-92 million cubic meters and 95-98, the pre-alert state is between 80-85 million cubic meters and 98-100 million, and the alert state intervenes at less than 80 million cubic meters in the NTS or more than 100 million.
