The Minister of Economy, Virgil Popescu, announces that the production of sanitary protective masks has started in Romania, with 150,000 masks per day, until April 15, when production of 500,000 masks per day will be reached.
“The production of the first masks in Romania has begun! With all the “engines” running we go ahead. The installation of the machines and the production test began. We will produce 150,000 masks per day, and from April 15, we will reach 500,000 pieces per day, respectively, about 4 million masks a month, ”Virgil Popescu announced on Sunday night on Facebook.
The minister thanked the company that produces the masks and appreciates that “in these days of the global crisis we need our own resources to protect the Romanians, those in the front line”.
“Thanks to Techtex, a member of the Taparo Group, who produce the outer material of the masks, the first two layers, but for now the finished product. We will help the Romanian company to continue investing to produce the last layer for masks in our country. Because in these days of global crisis, we need our own resources to protect the Romanians, those in the front line. Together we do Romania well, ”Popescu wrote.
The Minister of Economy, Virgil Popescu, announced on Thursday, at the beginning of the Government meeting, that the first large private company will start the first production of masks, to produce 150,000 per day and about 4 million per month, and from April 15 will produce 500,000 masks per day FFP2 and 100,000 masks FFP3.
Taparo Group was founded in 2005. It is a limited liability company, with 100% Romanian shareholding. Located in the northern part of Romania, in Maramures, in the village of Borcut, it is the largest producer in the area. The articles produced in Taparo are upholstered items such as sofas and armchairs, with textile covers, leather and leather imitations.
