Renewable energy organizations always ask for money from taxpayers, without producing electricity for the country’s economy

The government has just decided to support the population and companies in the face of the galloping increase in energy and natural gas prices. It provides, among other things, the drastic sanctioning of repeated transactions with electricity produced in the country or imported.
In the last weeks, the market was very tense, due to the lack of production. The unplanned shutdown of reactor 1 at CNE Cernavoda determined that Romania imported over 1.5GW of electricity for whole days. Internal capabilities are proven only on paper. Including those in the renewable energy sector. The past few days, although the sun shone almost all day and in all regions of the country, photovoltaic farms failed to show up in the system with more than 500-600 MW.
As for wind energy, it was almost non-existent. On the contrary, there were whole hours when the wind turbine system consumed electricity from the national system.
And despite all this, the organizations in the field have the guts to ask for help, help!
In a press release, RWEA – the Romanian Association for Wind Energy and PATRES – the Employers’ Organization of Renewable Energy Producers in Romania are trying to impress with their unlimited power.
RWEA, representing an installed power in Romania of 3 GW of wind energy, owned by companies such as CEZ, Enel, Engie, EDP following investments of over 5 billion euros and at the same time developers and providers of related services to this industry, together with PATRES, which includes 109 members, producers of renewable energy from all sources (water, wind, sun, biomass) with an installed capacity of over 1.8 GW and investments in Romania of over 2.7 billion euros, urgently requests the authorities to do not approve measures that destroy investments and jeopardize the existence of energy production capacities from renewable sources, says the press release.
Well, gentlemen, where can these investments be “seen”? In the plains occupied by wind towers and solar panels? All of which occupied thousands and thousands of hectares of the country’s agricultural surface. Because it is not observed in the national energy system.
According to the cited source, keeping the overtaxation formula, respectively the overtaxation on the profit per transaction, established in the draft GEO regarding the measures applicable to final customers in the electricity and natural gas market between April 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023, will force producers from renewable sources to close its energy production capacities.
“The immediate result will be a disastrous one: the renewables will all go bankrupt, and Romania will lose the ability to produce cheap, clean energy based on domestic resources,” the document states.
Renewable energy producers also claim that renewable energy is not responsible for price increases on the spot and wholesale markets in Romania.
Yes, she is responsible. Because due to the strong lobby of a decade ago, an entire industry, that of thermal energy, was destroyed. In its place, various companies from the non-renewable sector were installed, with the money from the taxpayers. All foreign. No equipment from this industry is manufactured in Romania. How shameful from RWEA and Patres!
“De-facto, renewable energy, when it is available, helps to calm and reduce the price, and Romania, if it had at this moment a much larger capacity installed in renewables, would have had a lower price and a higher level high level of energy security”, RWEA and PATRES also transmitted.
