Vascar, one of the main producers of meat preparations and preserves in Romania, received accreditation to export pâtés and preserves from pork to the United States market following an audit by the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) carried out in Romania.
The purpose of the audit was to establish the equivalence between the meat inspection system in Romania and the one in the United States. Throughout this process, started in 2021, the company’s management and technical team were in permanent contact with ANSVSA, FSIS, and the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA-APHIS).

The audit certified that the Romanian meat product inspection system can ensure final control, supervision, and enforcement of legislation. Obtaining this accreditation is the result of a combined effort of the Vascar company and other Romanian producers, the National Veterinary Sanitary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) and the embassies of the two countries, the USA and Romania.

Currently, Vascar exports its own brand products to countries such as: England, Italy, Spain, Germany, and France, but also to other countries in Europe and Africa. Export is an important segment for the company and the management aims to increase its share in the turnover.

In 2018, Vascar launched the full range of 100% natural products, Alege Natural, without Es, from Moldova in Bucate. In this category, Vascar also brought an absolute novelty, the Browned Products, Choose Natural Without Es, prepared through a procedure that allows preserving the nutritional properties and ensuring a natural, savory taste.

Founded in 1984 in Vaslui, Vascar is a company with 100% Romanian capital. More than 400 employees work for Vascar, and the company owns a processing factory in Vaslui and 21 own stores in the Moldova region, being one of the main employers in the region. Vascar and Moldova in Bucate products are distributed nationally, in hypermarkets, traditional partner stores and online, on www.freshful.ro and www.sezamo.ro. Also, Vascar is a company that produces “own brand” products for Carrefour, Mega Image, Penny Market and Lidl. Vascar recorded a turnover of 108.9 million lei at the end of 2022.
