OVES Enterprise launches SkyLock, an integrated AI-based drone interception system, tested in real-world conditions

Cluj-Napoca/Romania, January 27th, 2026 – RBJ –  – OVES Enterprise, a Romanian software development company with expertise in building complex software solutions and AI innovations for the aerospace, defense, and cybersecurity industries, announces the launch of SkyLock, an integrated system for the interception and neutralization of hostile drones, developed on the Nemesis AI platform.

SkyLock extends Nemesis AI’s existing capabilities in video analysis and target classification and, for the first time for the company, delivers a complete solution covering the entire operational chain: detection, identification, tracking, and neutralization.
The system integrates radar for the initial localization of threats, optical cameras with high zoom (30x–90x) or long-range focus, dedicated AI hardware for local data processing, and an autonomous aerial interceptor – a drone piloted exclusively by Nemesis AI.
“For several years, we have been developing and delivering to our partners capabilities for detecting, classifying, and tracking drones directly from video streams, integrated into Battle Management System-type platforms. SkyLock is the logical next step: moving from detection to a complete solution that is also capable of intervention. We are talking about a system in which both ground-based sensors and the aerial interceptor use artificial intelligence to make autonomous, real-time decisions,” says Mihai Filip, CEO of OVES Enterprise.
Once a hostile drone is detected, SkyLock can automatically launch the interceptor drone, which is guided by Nemesis AI to the target. Upon approach, the interceptor performs a secondary identification of the objective, achieves target lock, and executes the interception without human intervention, in scenarios where the rules of engagement allow it.

On-prem AI and in-house developed hardware
The artificial intelligence component onboard the drone runs on a board developed by OVES Enterprise, with an integrated flight controller, manufactured in Romania and verified at the Bill of Materials level for compliance with the requirements of the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act), a United States law that establishes rules and budgets for defense and national security and prohibits the use of certain equipment and components from suppliers considered security risks, particularly from China, in systems intended for the military, government agencies, and critical infrastructure.
Depending on the configuration, the ground-based system can detect drones at distances of up to 10 kilometers, while the launch of the interceptor drone typically occurs when the threat reaches 1–2 kilometers from the protected objective. The interceptor drone has an operational speed of 220–240 km/h (268 km/h peak speed) and an endurance of approximately 3–4 minutes, sufficient for interception missions over ranges of up to 12–15 kilometers.
SkyLock is designed as a scalable and cost-efficient system. Interceptors can be rapidly produced using 3D-printed casings and commercially available components, combined with proprietary in-house hardware optimized for running Nemesis AI models. In its current form, OVES Enterprise can produce up to 100 units per month, with the ability to scale to over 1,000 units monthly.

Solution tested in Ukraine
The solution is currently being tested under real-world conditions in Ukraine, both on the detection component and in complete end-to-end scenarios, and the company is in advanced discussions with defense partners regarding the integration of SkyLock as an extension to existing systems.
“For us, the interceptor drone is an effector. The real value lies in the complete artificial intelligence chain – from sensors to data correlation, prediction, and autonomous decision-making. SkyLock is built exactly around this philosophy: a system that sees, understands, and acts,” adds Mihai Filip.
SkyLock primarily targets organizations operating critical infrastructure, industrial facilities, logistics centers, energy assets, or other strategic objectives, where the risk posed by hostile drones is increasing.
