A new platform that will allow small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to learn, stay connected and progress has been launched in Romania by Meta.
According to a company press release, the Meta Boost Program is a free online training hub that offers everything from skills development opportunities and inspirational success stories to mentoring.
The launch of the new platform was marked by an official event, with panels and workshops on digital tools for SMEs, which took place on Tuesday in Bucharest.
“We want to strengthen Meta’s presence in Romania, starting with an event that expands our support for SMEs, especially after two difficult years. Our goal is to help entrepreneurs make the most of the potential of the Internet and Meta tools, giving them useful information on how to plan their campaigns, structure their budgets and meet their customers’ expectations in a way that makes a difference,” explained Jacob Turowski, Director of Public Policy for Central Europe and East, within the Meta.
Through Meta Boost, SMEs have the opportunity to make better use of their online presence and learn new ways to achieve their goals.
“Looking as a whole, in Romania the pandemic has broken down the wall that existed before in terms of people’s trust in online shopping. There is a growing tendency to support national brands that prove that they can thrive even in difficult times. The online environment has become the main channel of communication for brands and consumers, who have tried to stay in touch and move forward. But the new normal often means for small businesses and adapting their business model and moving much of it online. This can contribute to maintaining liquidity and jobs, but for some companies it was a difficult mission”, the quoted press release states.
In the long term, Meta announced that it will implement a series of initiatives to strengthen its presence in the Central and Eastern European region.
Meta Platforms Inc. is the parent company of the Facebook social network.
