Bucharest, May 13, 2025 – RBJ – Arrow Electronics has partnered up with Prime Batteries and NXP Semiconductors in order that an advanced battery energy storage system (BESS) platform can be realised.
Leveraging the industry-leading Li-ion battery technology expertise of Prime Batteries’ staff, in conjunction with contributions from the respective engineering teams of both Arrow and NXP, plus a supply of accompanying development hardware, it has been possible to boost efficiency levels and maximise storage capacity, while also ensuring that prolonged operational lifespan is attained. The resulting 1500V-rated solution complies with the latest European safety regulations and features numerous protection mechanisms. Its versatility, with adjustable voltage and current parameters, means that a broad array of different customer requirements can be met.
According to Vitali Damasevich, Director of Arrow’s Engineering Solutions Centre EMEA: “We are delighted to work with NXP and Prime Batteries to support the delivery of this cutting-edge BESS solution. By combining our engineering expertise and supply chain capabilities, Arrow and NXP are supporting Prime Batteries in enabling the rapid deployment of energy storage systems that will drive the transition to a cleaner and more resilient energy grid.”
“Our collaboration with Arrow and NXP has resulted in a BESS platform that not only helps meet the highest safety standards but also offers flexibility, scalability and cost-effectiveness. This solution will undoubtedly accelerate the adoption of renewable energy and contribute to a more sustainable future,” adds Vicentiu Ciobanu, CEO of Prime Batteries.
“NXP’s 1500V BESS provides a modular and scalable reference design for utility, commercial, industrial and residential high-voltage applications,” Alexandra Dopplinger, NXP’s Senior Director for Power & Energy, notes. “Our reference solutions help companies such as Prime Batteries reduce their development time and project complexity by directly leveraging advanced technology enablement such as pre-certified safety libraries and documentation (IEC 61508 SIL 2 and IEC 60730 Class B) for robust and long-lived storage installations.”
