Bucharest, September 11, 2025 – RBJ – Today’s press exploded when it received information from the National Institute of Statistics/INS (insse.ro) regarding the inflation level in August. Although this public institution is becoming less and less credible and reliable, due to the laziness with which it writes its statistical commentaries, it is the only one that can transmit the status of important economic indicators. As in other situations, the INS dissipates elliptical information, without a clear outline of their significance.
In the case of inflation, perhaps it was appropriate for the INS to specify that although the National Bank of Romania keeps the exchange rate of the national currency in check, in order to curb price increases for imported products, the Romanian Government has ratified measures in recent months that encourage the increase in consumer prices and services.
