Bucharest, January 17, 2026 – RBJ – The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) announces Romania’s official participation in the International Exhibition “Green Week” (Grüne Woche) 2026, taking place in Berlin from January 16 to 25. By organizing a stand dedicated to information and promotion, MADR assumes the role of supporting the competitiveness of local producers and presenting to the international community the rural development policies and the excellence of Romanian agri-food products recognized at European level.
This year’s edition has a special significance, as the “Green Week” Exhibition marks 100 years of existence, celebrating a century of tradition, innovation and gastronomic diversity at the international level.
In the context of the anniversary of the 2026 edition, the MADR stand will promote and offer for tasting Romanian products registered under European quality systems, such as: Topoloveni plum jam – IGP, Sibiu salami – IGP, Ibănești telemea – PDO, Smoked Novac from Țara Bârsei – IGP, Smoked Danube mackerel – IGP, Pleșcoi sausage – IGP, Sibiu telemea – IGP, Săveni cheese – IGP, Tulcea pike roe salad – IGP, Traditional carp roe salad – STG, Dobrogean pie – IGP, Pecica pita – IGP, Marinated anchovy made according to Romanian tradition – STG, as well as the newest Romanian product recognized at European level – Vâlcea axe sausage – IGP.
Also, products that are in the process of registration or on the way to European recognition will be presented, such as Vinars Jidvei – National Protected Geographical Indication, along with mountain, organic products and products registered under national quality schemes.
The range of products will be completed by those that are in various stages of the European registration process, namely: Babic de Buzău (PGI), Batog deltaic de sturgeon (PGI), Brânză framântată de Teaca (PGI), as well as products whose names will follow the stages of registration: Colțești cheeses, Zacuscă pescărească from Blăgești vegetables and Blăgești trout, Magiun from pumpkin or Topoloveni apple, Ceafă nobilă from Bistrița and Mere de Cândești from the Voinești fruit-growing basin.
Other dishes prepared for tasting at the MADR stand include: braided smoked cheese, cheese roll with dill, fish and vegetable zacusca, bakery and pastry products (cozonaci, Eugenia biscuits with various fillings, digestive biscuits, breadsticks), chicken products, as well as certified organic honey varieties or mountain products (acacia, lime, polyflora), other beehive products and cold-pressed oils.
The MADR stand will also feature representatives of the National Office of Vine and Wine Products (ONVPV) who will present a selection of wines with European recognition, representatives of the “Gustă din Bucovina” Association, who will promote authentic products from Bucovina, as well as representatives of ARCA ROMÂNIA SRL, who will exhibit fish and vegetable dishes, such as trout cream with matured cheese, sturgeon zacuscă, trout and carp, vegetable zacuscă and mushrooms.
The “Green Week” exhibition represents both a business platform and a festival of gastronomic traditions, with significant media impact at European and global levels. The event annually brings together over 50 participating countries, producers, processors, public authorities and professional organizations.
According to the final report of the 2025 edition, the exhibition brought together over 1,500 exhibitors from 50 countries, attracting approximately 310,000 visitors. A central point of the event is the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture, which brings together decision-makers to address the current challenges of the global agri-food sector.
Romania’s participation in the “Green Week” Exhibition has become a tradition, with the first presence being registered in 2005. Through this participation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development aims to promote policies and strategies in the field of agriculture, the food industry and rural development, highlight Romania’s agricultural potential, develop trade relations and stimulate exports on international markets, with a positive impact on competitiveness and balancing the trade balance.
