On Thursday, the government approved the establishment of the Romanian Agro-Food Commerce House ” Unirea ”. The government’s initiative is to ensure the acquisition, sorting, primary processing, standardization and distribution to domestic or export trade networks of agri-food goods produced in Romania.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR),the new company is meant to pro-actively contribute to the implementation of the national agricultural policy by integrating and integrating the agricultural potential of Romania.
The Agro-Food Commerce House is based on three pillars of structuring and development: a national network of territorial clusters of agricultural clusters that integrates at one or more Territorial Administrative Units (ATUs), local agricultural production resources and specific services at least one center for collecting / distributing products.
Another pillar is a network of regional silting, storage and industrial processing centers. In these centers, both the supply of fresh quality products and the added value of products through industrial processing, preservation etc. will be pursued.
It also envisages the creation of a national network of shops, developed especially in high-consumption centers, capable of providing the domestic market with fresh and processed agro-food products of domestic origin contributing, among other things, to balancing the balance sectoral trade.
The Agro-Food Commerce House”Unirea” will promote strategic orientations, such as: intensive integration of research results, innovation and good practices in all processes, including the capitalization of the rich Romanian tradition in this field; attracting into the regulated and fiscalized economic circuit of farmers and stimulating associative environments; complete computerization of processes from production to management, including the implementation of a functional system to ensure the traceability of specific products; increasing the level of qualification and specialization in the field of production and agro-food processing, contributing to the development of the sectoral labor market.
In addition, by entering the economic circuit of the society, it can be ensured the efficiency and effectiveness of the activities of supporting the Romanian farmers and farms in the foreign markets, but also by satisfying the demand of the internal market, MADR notes.
