The JATO Dynamics report on car registrations in April 2022 shows that Dacia brand models are among the most bought by European customers. Thus, after Dacia Sandero took the 5th place in the registration ranking in March, in April the model climbed to the third position.
In the general ranking of models registered in the fourth month of this year, the leader is Peugeot 208, with 15,615 units, followed by Volkswagen T-Roc (13,998 units) and Dacia Sandero (12,913 units). In the top 5 there is also a model produced in Romania, Ford Puma, the vehicle registered by Europeans in 12,601 copies. In the same ranking, the small Dacia Duster SUV, assembled in Mioveni, ranks 19th, with 9,347 units.
In the case of 100% electric cars, Dacia Spring ranks 4th in April, with 3,555 registered units, rising from the ninth position held in March. In the fourth month of the year, the Spring model was overtaken by Fiat 500 Electric (5,524 units), Peugeot e-208 (3,730 units) and Skoda Enyaq (3,645 units).
The monthly point rankings are decisively influenced this year by the possibility for manufacturers to assemble the respective vehicles and deliver them to customers. From one month to the next, there are major differences due to the shortage of semiconductors and other components, as well as problems in the supply chain.
What is certain is that in the first four months of this year the best-selling model of the Dacia brand in Europe was Sandero (60,405 units), followed by Duster (43,828 units), Spring (12,570 units), Jogger (8,127 units), Lodgy (4,222 units) and Logan (3,973 units).
In the case of Ford, another company with models produced in Romania, the best-selling model in the first four months is the Puma crossover, with 51,152 units), followed by Kuga (37,436 units) and Focus (26,731 units). The second model assembled at the Craiova plant together with Puma, EcoSport, was registered between January and April 2022 in 13,312 copies. As it is already known, Ford EcoSport will leave the portfolio of the Romanian plant this year.
