Outrageous: Today, for several hours, the National Energy Dispatcher informs, in real-time, that the wind farms in Romania consume over 20 MW of electricity, without producing anything. All wind turbines were on stand-by, substantially damaging Romania’s energy system.
Although the green energy associations in Romania always make a scandal that the state does not encourage the promotion of investments, they are silent from the spring of 2019, when the wind energy shows its disaster in Romania.
Where are the 3500 MW installed power in wind power?
We urge RWEA (Romanian Wind Energy Association) and PATRES (Organization of Renewable Energy Producers in Romania) to show the public the studies have been made investments for wind farms. On what basis was Romania’s wind potential established? Why are the websites of the two non-governmental organizations non-transparent? Why don’t we know the members of these organizations? Why are the boards of these organizations earning their existence?
The two organizations are the most troublesome and insist that Romania must declare the availability to increase the rate of renewable energy in Romania’s energy mix. Although Romania, at EU level, has met its target for 2020 since 2014.
I recently pointed out that studies conducted by Romanian specialists in the 1980s showed that Romania does not have wind potential and that any investment in the field is doomed to failure.
Today, October 26, 2019 is a dark day for the national energy system. Romanian consumers should not suffer from wind imperialism.
The companies that own wind farms must financially support Romania’s energy system, because the brutal investments in wind farms and the subsidies that consumers have paid for almost 10 years, have made the other components of the energy system lack investments for re-engineering or development.
With the money spent by the final consumers, through the green certificates (obligatory paid!), Romania could have invested and made at least 700 MW from the Cernavoda nuclear power plant from its own budget. Or to complete many projects in hydroelectric power stations, according to the Hidroelectrica SA program.
Therefore, we expect transparency and good conduct from operators in the renewable energy sector.
