Bucharest, October 17, 2023by rbj – The production of passenger cars, in Romania, decreased by 1.8% in the first nine months of this year, compared to the similar interval in 2022, to a volume of 375,860 units, according to published data, recently, by the Romanian Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACAROM).
Of the total recorded at the end of September 2023, Dacia reported 234,530 units produced, while 141,330 units belong to the Ford brand, according to Agerpres.

Reported from year to year, in September of the current year, 46,888 cars were produced in Romania, a decrease of 9.1%, compared to the same period of the previous year. Of these, 28,934 units were produced in the Dacia factory in Mioveni, and 17,954 units came off the production line at the Ford Otosan factory in Craiova.

Regarding the registrations of new cars, they decreased locally by 11.59%, in September compared to the same period in 2022, up to a volume of 10,545 units.

According to statistics, at the level of the first nine months of this year, the number of new car registrations reached the value of 110,011 units, increasing by 15.46% compared to the similar period of the previous year.

In the ranking of new cars, by brand, at the end of September 2023, Dacia is in first place – with 35,916 registered units. On the next places are Renault – with 8,271 units, Skoda (7,997), Toyota (7,888), Volkswagen (7,694), Hyundai (6,667), Ford (5,171), Mercedes (3,510), BMW (3,517) and Suzuki (3,516 ).

On the other hand, second-hand cars registered for the first time in Romania reached a volume of 26,227 units, in September 2023, 4.73% less compared to the same period in 2022.

In the same category, from January to September, this year, 202,255 units were registered in Romania, down 16.4% compared to the first nine months of the previous year.
