SNTGN Transgaz SA inaugurated on Monday the Natural Gas Compression Station at Jupa, which is part of the BRUA Project, the Ministry of Economy informs.
The value of the execution contract on August 31, without maintenance, for STC Jupa is 103.56 million lei. The value of the 2 compression units installed in STC Jupa is 12.6 million euros.
‘By the way it has managed the BRUA project so far, Transgaz has proven that it is capable of managing European-wide strategic initiatives. BRUA is on the chart, as I said every time, and in the next period we will continue to inaugurate new investment objectives within this project. I thank all Transgaz employees, as well as all the contractors, for their efforts. In addition to BRUA, Transgaz is simultaneously managing other major investment projects, such as those that allow the development of the National Natural Gas Transport System so that each local community has access to gas, but also the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline, which will lead to an increase in the degree. of regional energy security and will offer a new economic and energy perspective to the Republic of Moldova ‘, said Ion Sterian, the general manager of Trangaz, quoted in the ME statement issued Monday by Agerpres.
In his message sent on the occasion of the inauguration of Jupa Station, the Minister of Economy, Niculae Bădălău, stressed that Romania has a huge energy potential, but this potential needs infrastructure to be reached.
‘Congratulations to Transgaz on this success. Since taking over the portfolio of the Ministry of Economy, I have strongly supported the need for major investments. BRUA, Ungheni-Chisinau, Pojorâta-Vatra Dornei, all the developments of the National Gas Transport System, as well as the Vadu-T1 and Tuzla Podişor pipelines, which allow the take-off of gases that will result from the exploitation of the offshore perimeters, all these are evidences of these investments major, medium and long term, with concrete effects in the national economy. Romania has a huge energy potential, but this potential needs the infrastructure to be achieved, “said the minister.
The BRUA-Phase I project consists of achieving the following objectives: Podişor – Recaş pipeline with a length of 479 km, as well as 3 natural gas compression stations (STC Pododi, STC Bibeşti and STC Jupa) each station being equipped with two compression aggregates (one also a spare one), with the possibility of ensuring the two-way gas flow. The project provides bi-directional transport capacity of 1.5 billion cubic meters per year in / from Bulgaria, and 4.4 billion cubic meters per year in / from Hungary.
The Gas Jupa Compression Station is a technological installation interconnected to the following gas pipelines: DN 32 ‘SCG Bibeşti – SCG Jupa, DN 32’ SCG Jupa – Hungary, DN 20 ‘West 1, DN 20’ West 2. SCG Jupa purpose ( Caraş Severin county) is the gas compression of the pipelines to which it is connected, in order to compensate the pressure losses that are inherent in the process of transporting natural gas. The station is bidirectional; it can compress gases both from the direction of Bibeşti to the direction of Hungary and from the direction of Hungary to the direction of Bibeşti.
The order to start the works for SCG Jupa was sent on April 16, 2018.
SNTGN Transgaz SA is the technical operator of the National Transport System (SNT) of natural gas in Romania.
