The firm currently has active investments in the US, UK, CEE and Latin America. Partnering with Amerocap is the Washington-based strategic advisor the Abraham Group, headed by former US Senator and Secretary of Energy, Spencer Abraham, and by former IEA Vice Chairman Joe McMonigle. Secretary Abraham mentions that “Amerocap remains very focused on special situations where we can combine our access to capital centers in New York and London, with strategic positioning in key markets.”
According to amerocap.com, the firm’s current investments include: US military contracting (primarily energy), LNG infrastructure, upstream and midstream oil, and specialty mining. Amerocap is currently evaluating investments in the Port of Constanta.
Over the last 3 years, in Romania, Amerocap supported Chimcomplex’s acquisition of the operating chemical assets of the state-owned Oltchim. The acquisition consolidates Romania’s base chemical sector while also enhancing utilization of domestic natural resources.
Amerocap’s transaction teams provided extensive advisory support to Chimcomlex since 2015 with: (i) due diligence of Oltchim’s assets, (ii) coordination of the bidding process, (iii) direct negotiations with the Sellers in securing the Asset Purchase Agreement for Oltchim’s assets, and (iv) assets acquisition financing through the identification and introduction of Chimcomplex to investors, including some of the most prestigious US and Global funds, confirming their strong interest to invest in Romania.
Amerocap is a differentiated private equity investor that derisks complex situations in the energy and defense sectors. Our ventures have in excess of $1 billion deployed or committed.
“We develop proprietary investments and ventures, which are typically special situations that unlock deep value – ranging from underpriced assets, to less visible opportunities. “Amerocap’s investment strategy is to: seed, manage and institutionalize our ventures, where our interest has long-term alignment with our investors and partners.
“Our international teams – in New York, Washington, London, Bucharest and Cali (Colombia) – have extensive experience in energy, defense, investment banking, private equity, and government.”
