A thermal scanner of 100% Romanian design was developed and produced by the national defense industry, informs the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Business Environment (MEEMA), in a press release sent on Tuesday.
According to the ministry, the product called Condor SR-FS can be used to control access in areas with a high flow of people, to reduce the time of assessment of the febrile condition, in places such as airports, metro, border, hospitals (triage), institutions public etc.
“I welcome the involvement of the national defense industry in the effort required to prevent and combat COVID-19. We have already seen that Romanian isolates can be produced, and ROMARM will soon start producing masks. Now, two other companies from the national defense industry specializing in Optical, one with private capital, Pro-Optica, and another with the majority state capital, located in the portfolio of the Ministry of Economy, Romanian Optical Enterprise – IOR, have joined forces to produce a thermal scanner in our country. -private leading to the development of value-added products, “said Virgil Popescu, Minister of Economy, Energy and Business Environment.
The product, 100% Romanian design, is developed by Pro-Optica, a private equity firm, and launched in manufacturing at IOR, a company in the MEEMA portfolio, having a military certificate issued by the Center for Scientific and Military Medical Research.
