Bucharest, April 29, 2024 – RBJ – theCoRD, the Romanian technology startup that launched the world’s first AI team coaching solution, participated in Running Remote 2024 in Lisbon, the most important event dedicated to the future of work, remote and distributed teams. In this context, the company announces global expansion, with the objective for 2024 being presence in 10 countries.
Between April 22 and 24, in the European capital of innovation, Lisbon, theCoRD team presented the AI team coaching solution to a global audience at the highest level: more than 500 companies and experts in the future of work, entrepreneurs, consultants, investors. theCoRD was among the big names, along with Google, Boston Consulting Group, Atlassian, Dropbox, Doist, Stanford University, Zillow, etc.
Running Remote is the premier conference for remote-first and distributed organizations and teams. Every year, hundreds of companies from around the world attend the hybrid event to discuss the latest strategies and learn from industry leaders about #flexiblework, #scaling, #transition, #AI. Lisbon was the perfect setting for a new stage in theCoRD story. The city was designated the European Capital of Innovation in 2023, a title awarded annually by the European Council for Innovation of the European Union, to locations that encourage and help the development of disruptive projects, “unicorns”, and innovative ecosystems of work and collaboration.
theCoRD team presented the AI team coaching solution to the representatives of the most important companies invited to Running Remote, in the networking events, but also in the Enterprise Academy, a workshop led by experts and curators Brian Elliott, co-founder of Future Forum, Kate North, Principal at Global Workplace Analytics, Rosie Sargeant, co-project leader at Boston Consulting Group and Sacha Connor, CEO of Virtual Work Insider.
And co-founder Ruxandra Cord co-created one of the most important panels of the event: “The human side of Gen AI”.

The solution aims to change the way distributed teams collaborate during online meetings by identifying patterns in team dynamics and providing personalized coaching recommendations. theCoRD (the Coaching Results Driven AI) uses a machine learning algorithm to analyze employee conversational patterns during online team meetings and then provide personalized coaching recommendations to help employees be more productive and have shorter, longer meetings efficient. Among the innovative features are the analysis of the dynamics of team meetings, the recognition of patterns in the behaviors within the meetings and the evaluation of managerial skills. Based on these indicators, theCoRD proposes concrete solutions on how each team member should interact and collaborate. theCoRD was developed by a team of over 20 specialists, including team coaching professionals, AI and Machine Learning researchers and software developers, over the course of a year. The partner in the development of the product is the Natural Language Technologies Research Center, within the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of the University of Bucharest. To date, the process of developing the NLP (Natural Language Processing) AI solution has involved training AI and ML models based on over 3,000 online team sessions.
The investment was almost EUR 300,000, EUR 121,000 being in the form of a grant from Innovation Norway, the Norwegian Government’s most important instrument for the innovation and development of Norwegian enterprises and industry. The grant was obtained in the EEA Grants Norway 2014-2021 program, within the SME Growth Program Romania. theCoRD is aimed at small and medium-sized companies, which operate mainly in dynamic industries such as IT&C and MarCom (Marketing & Communication), these being the sectors that have recruited the most remote employees.
TheCoRD delegation to Running Remote, Lisbon was a project supported by funding provided by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through EEA Grants Norway 2014-2021, within the SME development program in Romania.
