Pitesti/Romania, November 29, 2023# rbj – The Dacia/Renault company presented today the third generation of the Duster model. The car will be “christened” at the Geneva Motor Show and will reach the first customers in the spring of 2024. Duster 3 will also have a hybrid variant.

The new Duster has “a more robust design with more personality” and “the 4×4 version of the new Duster takes off-road capabilities to another level. The company promises better quality materials and adds that “everything is new, except the essentials: Duster remains the best value for money family SUV on the market.”

Duster is the brand’s second best-selling model in Europe, after Sandero. The prices have not been announced, but according to market information the price of the Duster 3 will start from under 20,000 euros and the most expensive version will be under 30,000 euros.

According to the Romanian manufacturer, the Hybdrid 140 engine will also be manufactured, which is based on proven and recognized technologies within the Renault Group and which consists of a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine of 94 HP, from two engines electrics (a 49 hp engine and a high-voltage starter/generator) and from an electrified automatic gearbox. It has 4 stages dedicated to the thermal engine and another 2 dedicated to the electric engine. This combined technology is possible due to the absence of a clutch.

In Europe, the Dacia Duster was the ninth best-selling new car model last year, with 150,000 units, up 2% from 2021, according to JATO data. Sandero was second overall.

The best sales year in Duster history in Europe was 2018, the first full year after the launch of the second generation, with over 200,000 units.
