Bucharest, November 15, 2023# rbj (Source: Agerpres) – The Romanian manufacturer of generic drugs Antibiotice Iasi, a company listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, will enter the MSCI indices starting from the first trading day of December, the Stock Exchange informs on Wednesday to Bucharest.

Romania thus consolidates its presence in these indexes to 23 companies.

“Thus, ATB will be included in the MSCI Frontier IMI and MSCI Romania IMI (Investable Market Indices) indices, in the Small Cap category. The inclusion of ATB in these indices was announced following the quarterly revision of the indices, carried out by the global index provider MSCI, in November. With the inclusion of ATB in these indices, Romania’s presence increases from 22 to 23 companies in the MSCI Frontier IMI, MSCI Romania IMI indices. These indices include companies from the Small Cap, Mid Cap and Large Cap size categories”. states BVB in a press release.

In the MSCI indices for Frontier Markets, Romania is also represented by Banca Transilvania (TLV), BRD Groupe Societe Generale (BRD), Hidroelectrica (H2O), Nuclearelectrica (SNN), OMV Petrom (SNP), Romgaz (SNG), Electrica ( EL), MedLife (M), One United Properties (ONE), Teraplast (TRP), Transelectrica (TEL), Transgaz (TGN), Aquila Part Prod (AQ), Arobs Transilvania Software (AROBS), Bittnet Systems (BNET), Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), Conpet (COTE), Purcari Wineries (WINE), Safetech Innovations (SAFE), Simtel Team (SMTL), Sphera Franchise Group (SFG), TTS Transport Trade Services (TTS).

Romania is classified as an Emerging Market by the international index provider FTSE Russell, being represented by 13 companies: Banca Transilvania, Hidroelectrica, MedLife, Nuclearelectrica, OMV Petrom, One United Properties, Teraplast, Aquila, Bittnet Systems, Bursa de Valori Bucuresti, Conpet , Purcari Wineries, Sphera Franchise Group.

Antibiotice Company reported a net profit of 76.7 million lei in the first nine months of this year, 2.6 times higher than the value recorded in the same period last year, of 29.5 million lei.

The turnover obtained by the medicine manufacturer from sales on the domestic and international markets was 463.4 million lei, up 28% compared to 362.6 million lei, the level reached in the similar period of 2022.

The main producer of generic drugs in Romania, the company Antibiotice SA was founded in December 1955. The company was listed in the Premium category of the Bucharest Stock Exchange in 1997, and the market capitalization is 825.7 million lei.
