Bucharest, October 11, 2023by rbj – (Source agerpres) – The UAE Romanian Business Council made its official debut in the United Arab Emirates, the purpose of the association being to represent a bridge between the business environments of the two countries, to facilitate trade and mutual investments, to facilitate the evolution from simple commercial transactions to the establishment of lasting and impactful partnerships.
According to a press release sent to Agerpres, the launch event was attended by over 400 guests, including politicians, personalities from the two countries and entrepreneurs: Sheikh Hamdan bin Khalifa bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Sheikh Dr. Hind Al Qassimi, Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Almualla, Romania’s ambassador to the UAE, Octavian Badica, senators Ciprian Pandea and Viorel Badea, deputy Marius Mărgărit.
“In this framework, we see an increasing dynamic between the private sectors of both countries. What we see is from business to business, with economic and investment potential. This gave birth to the Business Council. What we see here is the power of experience and the community of connected people, willing to share the knowledge and expertise they have for new corridors (…) between Romania and the United Arab Emirates”, said the Romanian ambassador to the UAE, Octavian Bădică.
For his part, the president of UAEROBC, Marius Marinoff, told the WAM agency that the main objective of establishing this council is to intensify the cooperation between the business communities of the two countries and to realize the vision of the two presidents – Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates, and Klaus Iohannis, the President of Romania – to stimulate investments and commercial exchanges between Romania and the UAE, aiming to reach 100 billion dollars.
“This council will bring many benefits to several economic sectors in both countries and will contribute to the development of trade and mutual investments“, said the honorary president of the UAE Romanian Business Council, Sheikh Hamdan bin Khalifa bin Hamdan Al Nahyan.
Sheikha Dr. Hind Abdul Aziz Al Qasimi, founder and president of the Emirates International Business Club, highlighted the essential role of business councils as a means of communication between Emirati entrepreneurs and their global counterparts and urged local companies to explore opportunities in Romania. At the same time, she emphasized the significance of diversity, the quality of investments and the potential for fruitful partnerships, noting that Romanian entities from the Emirates were already familiar with the local market, a fact that increases the prospects for collaboration.
At the launch event of the UAE Romanian Business Council, which took place at the beginning of October, Ştefan Vuza, the president of Chimcomplex, the most important chemical conglomerate in Romania, was also present, who spoke about the plans to inaugurate a new factory in the Emirates, and Bogdan Rădulescu, co-founder of UNTOLD, who announced the next edition of the festival in Dubai, scheduled for February 2024. The launch of UAEROBC also included a performance by Marius Mihalache and his band, and the event ended with an exhibition by the Romanian artist Ciprian Istrate .
The UAE Romanian Business Council was officially registered as a non-profit entity in Abu Dhabi on April 28, 2022. The creation of the platform was facilitated by the Consulate General of Romania in Dubai and supported by the former ambassador of Romania to the United Arab Emirates, Adrian Măcelaru. The organization is under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Khalifa bin Hamdan Al Nahyan and is supported by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce.
The UAE Romanian Business Council has also developed a partnership with the European Women’s Association, EWA, led by Yulia Stark, who is part of the UAEROBC Board of Directors. Together, the two organizations aim to establish the European Business Council in the UAE by 2024, in order to strengthen the presence of European businesses in the region.
