Romanian authorities on Wednesday signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of labor and social protection with the Vietnamese ministry in order to bring the country’s labor force to the national territory.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Labor and Social Justice (MMJS), the understanding of cooperation between the two states was signed in the conditions in which Romania is undergoing an acute labor force crisis, and the Republic of Vietnam has a population of 94 million of whom approximately 60 million are capable of working.
“I guarantee that the rights of extra-community workers, including, obviously, Vietnamese citizens, have been, are and will be respected in Romania under the same conditions as those of Romanian employees. Romanian legislation does not discriminate between employees, Vietnamese workers have the same rights as Romanians in our country, “said Labor Minister Marius Budai.
In turn, Dao Ngoc Dung, the Minister of Labor, Invalidation and Social Affairs of Vietnam, said that at present “there are about 3,000 Vietnamese citizens working on the territory, who are pleased with both working conditions and salaries received ‘.
Vietnamese citizens work in Romania in construction, industry, agriculture and tourism.
The memorandum between Romania and Vietnam was concluded in the conditions in which the Romanian business environment claims a deficit of one million employees on the labor market, the Labor Ministry notes.
