Bucharest, June 5, 2025 – RBJ – The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), in partnership with the Embassy of India in Bucharest and the Federation of Indian Export Organizations, organized, on June 5, the Romania-India Business Forum, an event dedicated to strengthening bilateral economic relations and identifying new opportunities for collaboration between companies from the two countries.
CCIR Secretary General, Mr. Ovidiu Silaghi, highlighted that “in 2024, trade between Romania and India increased to approximately 1 billion euros. Romania maintains a positive trade balance in services, exporting almost 155 million euros to India, of which 24 million in IT and software services. This opens an access path for cooperation in digital technologies, artificial intelligence and innovation. Romania offers attractive conditions for investment; there are 94 industrial parks covering over 3,200 hectares and modern infrastructure. The strategic location of the Port of Constanta as a hub on the Black Sea strengthens Romania’s role as a gateway for Indian exports to Europe. CCIR reaffirms its support for business cooperation between our countries. We are confident that today’s forum will encourage new dialogue and future business prospects for companies.”
In turn, H.E. Manika Jain, the Indian Ambassador to Romania, noted the positive evolution of bilateral relations: “India and Romania share a strong and growing relationship. In recent years, trade ties between the two countries have intensified, reflecting a shared commitment to long-term economic collaboration, based on an ongoing dialogue with CCIR, an organization that has permanently supported us in all our economic endeavors. We have managed to strengthen economic relations with both Romania and Moldova, in industries such as food processing, pharmaceuticals and industrial machinery.”
