Norofert company was founded in 2000 as a family business. Between 2000 and 2010, the company imported and distributed in Romania high-quality agricultural inputs. In 2015, the year in which Vlad Popescu took over the business, the company completely gave up the import activity and started its own line of production of organic fertilizers that has grown constantly over the years.
In August 2018, Norofert introduced Biochain technology for all its products and launched a premiere on the European market by introducing all products in the form of an effervescent tablet. By replacing the effervescent tablet of classic liquids or powders used in agriculture, Norofert has completely removed the risk of product fermentation at high temperatures, extended their storage time, and significantly reduced the storage and transport space, revolutionizing Thus the market for ecological agriculture. The effervescent tablet has so far been sold on markets in Romania, France, and Spain. The continuous expansion of innovative products of Norofert is planned for the next period.
In July 2019, the company made a private placement for its actions, and from that moment Norofert started an accelerated development process. With the help of the capital attracted from investors on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, the company has expanded its team, has rented and equipped a new factory 10 times larger than the previous factory (currently the largest organic fertilizer production unit) With 4 production lines, for organic liquid fertilizers, conventional liquid fertilizers, soil granular tablets, and fertilizers. The Norofert portfolio has reached over 60 different products, grouped into 3 main lines.
In this way, the company has strengthened its presence on the US market, establishing in the middle of 2020 a Charofert branch in the state of Ohio-Norofert USA, LLC and obtaining marketing authorization of 6 lucky products on the American market.
Research, production, and marketing of ecological inputs
The main activity of Norofert is the development and production of own recipes of inputs for organic agriculture, as well as conventional (from August 2019). In addition to the range of 65 different products, grouped into 3 main lines, the company projects personalized schemes for training and optimization of crops that allow the adaptation of organic inputs to the specific needs of the harvest, atmospheric conditions, and the particularities of each culture.
Currently, Norofert produces agricultural fertilizers and inputs that are available on the market under 3 different brands – Norofert Organics, Inputs for Ecological Agriculture (large cultures), Karisma, inputs for conventional agriculture (large cultures), and Norofert Fito, fertilizers and phytosanitary and small farmers.
The company has undergone rapid growth after developing its own technology, called Biochain, which uses only raw materials of vegetable and animal origin, bacterial components, and microorganisms as ingredients in the manufacture of products.
Ecological pharming
Another new Business line for Norofert, introduced in 2021, is ecological pharming and in this sense, from 2022, the entire area of 1000 ha of the company from Zimnicea (southern Romania) will become ecologically certified.
Cereal trading
The third line of business is trading with ecological cereals and represents first of all the guarantee of recovery of market debts. After completing the process of growing crops and harvesting, Norofert takes the customer products and exports them to the final processors, with which he has prior trading contracts. Thus the cycle of ecological agriculture is concluded and integrated. Through this ecosystem, farmers capitalize on their products at a better price, and the final processor has a quality guarantee.
