The journalists from National Geographic Traveler recommend that tourists from all over the world not only enjoy the gastronomic diversity that Sibiu will offer, but also the festivals organized here, the beauty of the medieval city and visit the oldest museum in Romania, the National Museum Brukenthal, in the historical center of the city.
The National Geographic Traveler for 2019 counts 19 recommended destinations: Setouchi, Antarctica, Pittsburgh, Corsica, Cambodia, San Miguel de Allende, West Yorkshire, Hong Kong, Zimbabwe, Guyana, Oslo, Eritrea, KwaZulu-Natal, Matera, Indonesia and Sibiu.
Sibiu has been nominated over the past ten years in numerous international tourism charts. It has come to the attention of journalists abroad, especially after 2007, when it was the first city in Romania with the European Capital of Culture.
