Innovation and trained staff redefine the beauty industry. Aesthetic and cosmetic treatments of ” attainable luxury”, among the top preferences of Romanians

Must Read

Bucharest, March 19, 2025RBJ – New technologies are radically changing the way we take care of our skin and body. From non-invasive laser treatments and radiofrequency therapies to artificial intelligence-based skincare analyses and personalized treatments, technology is reshaping beauty standards.
Aesthetic clinics are now equipped with state-of-the-art laser platforms, which offer effective anti-aging solutions, with treatments for skin revitalization and body remodeling. In Romania, the industry is growing rapidly, with centers and clinics providing advanced procedures such as CO2 laser, HIFU, Morpheus, Dermapen, premium body treatments, permanent hair removal, etc. With the increasing demand for non-surgical treatments, these centers are becoming the main choice for those looking for effective, science-based skincare solutions.

“In Romania, the beauty and body care market has evolved spectacularly in recent years. We opened our first clinic in Bucharest in 2018. Since then, we have expanded the business so that we currently have six clinics and over 45,000 clients to whom we have offered safe and effective treatments, through procedures that use technology approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) from the United States,” said Alin Radu, founder and CEO of Doctor SKiN.

How much do Romanians spend on facial and body treatments?
The success of a business in the beauty industry is given by the teams of doctors and specialists in aesthetics and dermatology, as well as by the innovative treatments offered. On the market, those beauty centers offering attainable luxury services stand out among customers.

“The success of a business is given in particular by how it solves the customer’s needs well, quickly at a quality-price ratio. That is why, as services offered and business strategy, we chose to go for the attainable luxury option (world-class equipment and top procedures) and that is why we have customers who do not spend much, but who receive premium procedures. For example, some people come once every 6-8 weeks and pay for a full body laser hair removal session, which starts at 299 lei. I noticed that the average budget of a client is about 1,000 – 2,000 lei, monthly,” said Alin Radu, founder and CEO of Doctor SKiN.

High-performance and approved devices have become assets of a successful business in the aesthetics, facial, and body care market.
“We are the only ones on the market that use new equipment that we change every two years. We have maintenance and service contracts and change them long before they wear out because they no longer give the same performance. We only have original equipment, products, and technologies. We avoid outdated technology or replicas, investing only in original equipment. We invest in state-of-the-art devices, with prices starting from 80,000 euros. According to all these aspects, the value of our investment in new devices and technology has risen to about 2 million euros since our appearance on the market in 2018. I estimate that for 2025 we will invest approximately 500,000 euros for the modernization of the spaces in which we operate, and new and innovative equipment that has appeared on the international market,” added Alin Radu.

Trained staff in the beauty industry, an advantage for attracting customers

In addition to investments in top technologies, businesses in the aesthetics and skincare segment require trained staff who know how to properly use top-of-the-line equipment and personalize each treatment. According to the founder of Doctor SKiN, Alin Radu, investments in this segment have also amounted to about 150,000 – 200,000 euros in the last six years.

What aesthetic procedures do Romanians prefer?

Permanent laser hair removal is the most requested aesthetic procedure in Romania, attracting both women and men, with a success rate of 70 – 80% after 8 sessions.
According to estimates, in Doctor SKiN clinics alone, over 10,000 people have resorted to this procedure, in the last six years.

In second place are injectable aesthetic treatments, such as Botox wrinkle smoothing, Hyaluronic Acid lip augmentation, procedures against hair loss, excessive sweating, CO2 laser rejuvenation, and post-acne scar reduction. Collagen bio-stimulators such as Sculptra and Profhilo, which provide a naturally rejuvenated appearance, have gained popularity, along with non-invasive HIFU facial cleansing and lifting treatments.
In third place are body treatments for cellulite and sagging skin, as well as dermatology, which has evolved significantly thanks to modern technologies, including the CO2 laser, used for various skin conditions.

Global trends in the aesthetics and skincare industry focus on natural beauty,  biotechnology, and biohacking. In the future, according to Alin Radu, founder of Doctor SKiN, there will be a significant increase in demand for non-invasive treatments that offer fast, natural results with no recovery time.

Collagen biostimulators and “glass skin” products such as JuveLook will continue to gain popularity, and technologies that combine visible results with minimal recovery will be at the forefront.

Interest in sustainability and using natural ingredients in care products will continue to grow. More and more customers are becoming informed and want transparency regarding procedures, product composition, and the results they can achieve.
