Founded in Timişoara, Romania with a tradition of almost 100 years, ELBA is the most important producer of lighting products and lighting systems in the country.
ELBA actively participates at everyday quality improvement, developing lighting solutions in accordance with the production regulations. These guarantee safety and quality through the use of ecological alternatives.
In 2010, a key milestone in evolution of the company took place – the inauguration of the new production site. This is a modern building with all the required amenities and facilities.
The adopted vision and concrete objectives prove once again that ELBA is an important producer which concentrates its interests and resources for the benefit of the client and the environment.
Privately owned company with Romanian capital has an experienced Board Of Directors oriented towards sustainable business development.
As a key company in the lighting industry, ELBA’s activities are driven by well established values and principles. Innovation fuels our activities. Respect-based relationships with our partners and employees is our policy. National supplier for the entire automotive industry in Romania
In 1952, ELBA successfully launched the production of the first headlights and lamps for tractors and trucks. Subsequently, between 1956 and 1970, ELBA started producing the first vehicle headlights and lamps designed for Dacia.
Starting with 1976, all ELBA products designed for the automotive industry started carrying the E19 European mark. ELBA has been the lighting producer for the whole range of models subsequently developed in partnership with Automobile Dacia, as well as for other types of vehicles. In 2003 and 2004, an ample investment programme was carried out with the purpose of aligning the production technology of the lighting devices (headlights and lamps) to the requirements of the vehicle producer DACIA Group Renault.
In November 2004, the Automotive Factory has completed the certification of the quality management system in accordance with ISO/TS 16949 (a standard specific for the production processes from the automotive industry), in addition to the management system certification done in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard, which shows our commitment to continual improvement.
Automotive production that meets the industry’s high standards for quality
ELBA’s vast experience in the automotive industry led to a considerable specialised know-how. Currently, due to important investments in technology, ELBA is fully aligned to the automotive industry’s demands. The new automotive production site is almost 19.000 ms wide and is specialised in the production of vehicle headlights and rear lamps. The design and organisation of the new production site meet the requirements of ISO TS 16949.
US auto headlights manufacturer Varroc Lighting Systems has signed a joint venture agreement with ELBA.
The joint venture will focus on electronics manufacturing, and – given the constantly increasing electronic content of lighting products – will significantly support Varroc Lighting’s successful growth in Europe.
“Varroc already designs and develops all of its own electronics hardware and software, the addition of vertically integrating the manufacturing will further support our profitable growth,” said Varroc Lighting Systems President and CEO Stephane Vedie. “ELBA is recognized as a lighting specialist in the European market, and we are looking forward to a successful partnership with them.”
The partnership with ELBA is Varroc Lighting’s second electronics-focused initiative in recent months. In July, the company acquired Sa-ba Automotive, a Turkish-based manufacturer of small lighting and electronics products.
