Cognizant Softvision is developing its operations in Romania, in order to respond to a growing demand for digital development and transformation solutions used by top clients in the field of financial services, insurance, retail, tourism, as well as other industries. The team’s growth plans are aimed at recruiting at least 500 professionals in the field of creative technology, by the end of this year.
Currently the company has about 1,700 employees in Romania.
In addition to expanding the team, Cognizant’s Digital Engineering division plans to launch new design studios in key areas of Bucharest, Iasi and Timisoara. Cognizant Softvision’s global portfolio includes clients such as Groupon, Macy’s and Mozilla.
Romania is a hub of the Cognizant Softvision global network, comprising a portfolio of over 3,000 developed and professional IT and design professionals working from 30 studios in 9 countries, on five continents.
Before being acquired by Cognizant in 2018, Softvision was a company established in Romania, being founded in Cluj-Napoca, over 20 years ago. Global leader in the software market, Cognizant recorded revenue of $ 16.13 billion in 2018. The acquisition of Softvision by Cognizant has created one of the most powerful companies in the world in the field of digital development and a leader in software development.
The new brand Cognizant Softvision was officially launched in August this year at Untold, a European music festival, which attracted over 350,000 participants in the 2019. As an Innovation Partner of the 2019 edition of the Untold festival, Cognizant Softvision developed the smart assistant app for the music festival, as well as a smart info chatbot.
