At the University of Craiova, Dolj County, a Romanian-Chinese research center in applied mathematics was inaugurated, a project started a few years ago. The center will also house 9 Chinese researchers, the only Chinese researchers in Romania to receive financial support from the China Scholarship Council (CSC).
According to the University of Craiova, this research center aims to promote authentic excellence in mathematical research and strengthen scientific relations between Romania and China.
The founding members of the China-Romania Research Center in Applied Mathematics (http://www.cram.ucv.ro/) are univ. dr. Dan Selişteanu, vice-rector Scientific research, and relations with the economic environment, prof. univ. dr. Vicenţiu Rădulescu, prof. univ. Dr. Ionel Rovenţa (University of Craiova), Xianhua Tang (Central South University, Changsha), Runzhang Xu (Harbin Engineering University), Binlin Zhang (Shandong University of Science and Technology, Qingdao).
“The research center was established as a result of the intense scientific collaboration with Chinese mathematicians, which began a few years ago and which has resulted in the publication of more than 50 articles in journals with a very wide international visibility. 5 Chinese researchers funded by the China Scholarship Council (CSC), another 4 researchers will arrive in Craiova, in January 2022. They are the only Chinese researchers in all fields in Romania with financial support from the CSC “, informs the University of Craiova.
The event was attended by members of the Chinese Embassy in Bucharest, representatives of several Chinese universities, as well as teachers from the University of Craiova.
