The Bosch company inaugurated the third production hall within the car electronic components factory from Jucu, Cluj county, according to a communiqué sent on Thursday by the commercial company.
The new production unit has a total built area of 34,500 square meters and required an investment of about 55 million euros.
The new hall will be used for the manufacture of high-quality electronic control units for electric vehicles, and the equipment used is energy efficient, in order to implement a sustainable production.
Among the energy efficiency projects implemented by Bosch in the factory in Cluj County are solutions for monitoring energy consumption, purchasing electricity from renewable sources, replacing existing lighting fixtures with LED technology or using LEDs with light and motion sensors which adjusts the light intensity.
In the production unit inaugurated on Thursday, the company implemented solutions to reduce methane gas consumption by recovering heat from compressors and started installing photovoltaic panels to produce its own green energy.
In addition to the production area, offices and meeting rooms, the new building offers various facilities, such as communication and relaxation areas and outdoor spaces designed for recreation.
At the Cluj plant, Bosch has been producing electronic control units since 2013 that increase road safety and driver comfort, such as airbag units, multi-camera systems, driving assistance and electronic control units for eBike.
The Bosch Group has been present in Romania for 27 years and has approximately 8,160 employees in five units.
In 2020, Bosch recorded sales of 448 million euros on the Romanian market.
In addition to the research and development center in Cluj and its production units for mobility solutions in Cluj and Blaj, Bosch also operates an industrial technology production unit in Blaj, as well as a business process outsourcing service center in Timisoara.
