Antibiotice Iaşi SA has won the tender organized by the European Commission for the product AmoxiPlus (amoxicillin / clavulanic acid – sterile injectable powder) and will deliver, at the request of European countries, 2.75 million vials, in a period of 12 months, informs the company through a press release.
The European Commission has recently finalized the tender to provide member countries with the necessary stocks for the second wave of the pandemic with beta-lactam antibiotics (amoxicillin with clavulanic acid and piperacycline with tazobactam).
“I believe that each of us must do what he knows best. Antibiotice provides Europe with a strategic product of the utmost importance for the treatment of COVID-19 associated infections. We have won the tender with a sensible price of 1.19 euros / amoxicillin with clavulanate is one of the most valuable drugs for fighting bacterial infections and more.We, at Antibiotice, have 65 years of experience and know-how in the production of sterile injectable powders. , beyond ensuring the necessary with AmoxiPlus of the European markets, the deliveries will be made considering first of all the coverage of the need of anti-infective drugs for the patients from Romania. Amoxicillin with clavulanic acid, along with piperacycline with tazobactam, are the main products recommended by the World Health Organization in anti-infective treatment.
Winning the auction involved obtaining a maximum score by cumulatively meeting four essential conditions: quality, validity, price, speed / prompt delivery.
Antibiotice is the only pharmaceutical company in Romania that has a production flow for sterile injectable powders, the first product being manufactured in 1955. The quality standards implemented on this production flow have been recognized and approved by the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration).
